MÜHLE's Sustainable Shaving Journey

In 2021, MÜHLE launched the first safety razor designed with the needs of all users in mind, regardless of gender. This journey began in 1945 when Otto Johannes Müller founded the business after returning from the war, creating the first shaving brushes and designing the MÜHLE signet.

The company continued to evolve, with Hans-Jürgen Müller taking over in 1965 and growing the business to 40 employees, exporting MÜHLE products to 36 countries. However, in 1972, under pressure from the German Democratic Republic, Hans-Jürgen Müller was forced to sell the company, which then became a state-owned enterprise.

In 1987, the business was rebranded, and Hans-Jürgen Müller became a self-employed brush maker. But in 1990, a new Europe emerged, and Hans-Jürgen Müller regained the family business, trading as Hans-Jürgen Müller KG, with the MÜHLE signet remaining.

MÜHLE struggled to survive after reunification, but little by little, the company won new customers and rehired former employees. By 2006, the offering was expanded to a full range of wet shaving goods, and the MÜHLE brand came to the fore.

For over 75 years, MÜHLE has designed, developed, and manufactured the finest quality shaving products from their family-owned premises in historic Saxony, northern Germany. Today, MÜHLE razors, brushes, and accessories are used by shaving enthusiasts worldwide.

The MÜHLE Shaving Culture was born in 1945 at a factory in Saxony, and for three generations, a skilled workforce has handcrafted the finest shaving tools for discerning gentlemen who demand the best wet shaving experience.

MÜHLE offers a range of razor designs to suit different shaving styles, including Gillette Mach3 multi-blade razors, Gillette Fusion multi-blade razors, and double-edge safety razors. The shaving brush is the centerpiece of wet shaving, and MÜHLE manufactures a wide range of ergonomic handles in both traditional and modern designs, using either natural badger hair or synthetic fibers.
